Join printmaker, Daryl Howard, to learn about the history of the Japanese Woodblock Print and to create your own! Daryl lived and taught art at an overseas school in Tokyo in the 1970’s. During that time she embarked on an apprenticeship with master print maker Hodaka Yoshida, son of Hiroshi Yoshida--whose prints you can see in our permanent collection. By the time she left Japan, Howard had become proficient in the medium, well on her way to perfecting the painstaking demands of carving and printing. Spend the afternoon learning about the printmaking process from Daryl and take home your own woodblock print.
