ABOUT ABOUT

Jim Hodges: Give More Than You Take

The DMA will premiere a major traveling exhibition and the first comprehensive survey to be organized in the United States on the work of contemporary American artist Jim Hodges. Co-organized by the Dallas Museum of Art and the Walker Art Center, Jim Hodges: Give More Than You Take explores the artist’s twenty-five-year career, highlighting the major themes that unify his multilayered and varied practice. The exhibition will feature approximately seventy-five works produced from 1987 through the present.

Hopper Drawing: A Painter’s Process is the first museum exhibition to focus on the drawings and creative process of American artist Edward Hopper. The touring exhibition, organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, features more than one hundred works by Hopper, including drawings, watercolors, prints, and paintings, and is drawn primarily from the Whitney Museum’s unparalleled holdings of the artist’s work. Hopper Drawing will bring together paintings with suites of related drawings, in some cases for the first time.
