Pulitzer Prize-winning, culture critic Margo Jefferson will interview Yaa Gyasi about her epic debut novel, Homegoing, which begins with two half-sisters in 18th century Ghana—one married off to a wealthy Englishman, the other sold into slavery—and traces the lives of their descendants to 20th-century America.

6:30 p.m. Join Dr. Roslyn Walker, the DMA’s Senior Curator of the Arts of Africa, the Americas, and the Pacific and The Margaret McDermott Curator of African Art, for a pre-event tour focused on works of art from Ghana.
